Elder Tonique Johnson, a native Washingtonian, accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. Though she never strayed too far from the church, it was after completing high school when she realized what ‘relationship’ with Jesus was really about.  It was during this time that Elder Johnson began giving herself to this life called salvation, in her decisions, in her way of thinking, in her heart, and just in her everyday life.  She maintained the church life she grew up in as a child until God began calling her to a life where she began experiencing a ‘relationship with God’ on a whole new level.  This brought about complete deliverance and freedom in Him.  By divine design, God connected her with a coworker, who later introduced her to a woman she would eventually call her ‘Spiritual Mother’, the late Pastor, Dr. Ruby Prideaux.  This connection led to her relocation from Washington, DC to Baltimore, MD.  Through godly connections and regular church attendance at Trinity Apostolic Faith Holiness Church, Baltimore, MD under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Ivan Grant Sr., her relationship with God grew and continues to grow.  Pastor Ivan Grant Sr., would eventually become her ‘Spiritual Father’ in the gospel.

 

As she continued to dedicate her life to God in all earnestness and began yielding herself as a servant of the Lord for Him to use as He pleases, Elder Johnson became pliable and obedient.  Elder Johnson worked diligently in various facets of the ministry, well before she realized she was being called to the ministry.  She accepts all that God is doing in her life and it is her greatest pleasure to know that of all people, God would take her and make something beautiful out of her life!  With great sentiment she holds dear the words of a song:  He chose me, He chose me, Out of all the people in the world, He chose me!  She also holds dear to her heart the words of 1 Timothy 1:12, which reads:  And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.  Elder Johnson believes in God the Father, who, in His sovereignty, created and rules over all.  She believes in Jesus Christ the Son, who came to offer eternal life to those who repent, believe, and faithfully obey Him.  She believes in the active presence of the Holy Spirit, who effectively works in the lives of the believer.  She believes the Bible is the infallible and inspired Word of God.

 

Elder Johnson currently serves as Senior Elder at the Remnant of God Deliverance, Ministry, Inc., Catonsville, MD under the leadership of Senior Pastor Karen Thompson.  In this position she works in harmony with the Senior Pastor Karen Thompson as she serves as key leadership over the Ministerial Staff to carry out the mission as a member of the team in ministry.  Elder Tonique Johnson is excited about the things of God and continues to grow in her faith and relationship with God.
